MIT University Sikkim (full name: Management and Information Technology University, Sikkim) is a private state university set up under the Sikkim Private Universities Act, 2024 by the Government of Sikkim. It is designed to provide high-quality higher education in the northeastern region of India. 

Established:- 2024 (law passed), operational from July 2025

Recognition:- Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 — degrees are nationally valid and accepted. The Governor of Sikkim granted official approval for operations in 2025.
